Christo Sims is a PhD student at UC Berkeley's School of Information. His research focuses on how young people make use of new media in their daily lives, comparing these practices to the ways young people and new media are treated in adult-driven practices and discourse. Before coming to the DMLstudio, Christo worked as a researcher for the Digital Youth Project, a collaborative ethnography overseen by Peter Lyman and Mimi Ito. For the Digital Youth Project, Christo ran two projects, one in rural northern California, the other in Brooklyn, New York. His research contributed to the project's analysis of intimacy, friendship and homes & family. Christo received his Masters degree from UC Berkeley's School of Information in the spring of 2007, and his Bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College in the spring of 2000.
